Do You Believe?

"I believe there's someone who's looking after me--someone beside me night and day to light the way. It's hard to conceive something you can't see, but I believe." As the first round of tests approaches this semester I find myself needing some inspiration and something new to look at.  I'm sure my anesthesia friends do too. Thanks to one of my favorite singers, my hero, George Strait for this great song. We really do have someone who is looking out for us that we can look to and trust. When you're up studying at 2AM, wanting to pull your hair out, give up, go to bed, or all of those things and need something to look at, come back and look at the video. When you are trying to remember the sequence of steps for a rapid sequence induction or the correct dosages of neuromuscular blockade to give, you're in good company! Know that someone is looking after you. Heartache, disappointment, bad grades, or speed bumps may occur but that's OK. This is His plan. This is God's plan, and it is a perfect plan. Hope this post gives some encouragement to my DNP colleagues. "Rivers flow now that use to run dry as people all over the world start to cry, but I believe..."

On a Serious Note...

Today the campus of Union University is saddened to hear of the loss of an undergraduate music student, Olivia Greenlee. I did not know this person, however my prayers are with the family, campus, and friends. I am sure there will be developing stories on this in the days to come, but for now you can look at the current headline at the following link: http://www.wbbjtv.com/news/local/Police-Investigate-Death-on-Union-University-Campus-245206831.html.

Oh, Would You Look at This?!

Hey, gang! As many of you know, I am Casey! I'm a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student at Union University in Jackson, TN studying nurse anesthesia. As part of the requirements for a technology class, I have created this awesome blog for which I will post interesting, fascinating, fun, and cool things throughout this semester that will make you wanna say, "Well would you look at that?!" This week's item to look at is the school's official website for the certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) program: http://www.uu.edu/programs/nursing/dnp/bsndnp/anesthesia/. There you will find the grueling load that I'll be tackling for approximately the next thirty months. I am currently in the second semester of nine required and eager to begin practicing anesthesia. Check in periodically to see what's to look at!!!
